School bus death case trial resumes today

An Abu Dhabi court hearing the case of a four-year-old Indian school girl who died after she was forgotten in the school bus adjourned hearings to Tuesday for fresh statements by the prosecutor and the defence lawyer.

Naziha was found dead in her school bus after she was forgotten for many hours during the school day in Abu Dhabi in October.

Police arrested the bus driver and the female student supervisor on negligence charges while the school head was bailed out pending trial.

The prosecutor has accused the transport company and its driver, the supervisor and the school of responsibility for the Naziha’s death, which prompted education authorities to shut the private Al Worood School, where the child had studied.
