Sharjah Awqaf announces 10% cut in rents

Sharjah Awqaf Department has announced a 10 per cent cut for its staff who wants to rent housing units owned by the body.

Talib Ibrahim al-Marri, Director General of Awqaf said “the move was based on directives of Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Secretary General of Awqaf and is aimed at providing adequate housing at an affordable price in order to strengthen the role of endowments as an effective tool in the economic and social development of the community.”

The new decision would apply to all buildings and villas owned by the department.
