A five-year-old Arab autistic child roamed the streets of Al Madam in Sharjah emirate on her own before she was found by the police and handed over to her mother.
Police took the child to their centre and started contacts to locate her family as she was unable to speak or respond to their questions.
After nearly two hours, they managed to identify the family, who was found to be living in a flat in that area. A police patrol later took the child and handed her over to her mother.
Quoted by Emarat Al Youm daily, her father Khalid Al Saadi said the girl sneaked out of the window while her mother was still in bed and he was out to take his son to school in the morning.
