A customer whose e-Life account was cancelled at someone else’s request will get his account restored, Etisalat said.

Emirates 24|7 took up the complaint made by the customer with regards to restoring his e-Life account - for telephone, internet and television.

The customer who lives in Sharjah found his connection dead days ago.

Speaking to this website, S Sreekumar, a senior media marketing executive who lives in Sharjah, said that he was surprised to hear from the Etisalat customer service that his connection was terminated with effect 9.30am on November 29, 2015 based on a request received at the Sharjah Al Manakh Business Centre office of the telecom provider.

“I was going to office at the time and when I contacted the customer service they said there was a cancellation request,” Sreekumar claimed.

“I have been using this account since 2012 and I never approached Etisalat office with a request to cancel the account. I don’t have any outstanding dues.

“Initially I was confused and worried,” Sreekumar said. He then approached the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA) with a complaint he registered online.

He alleges that the customer service team did not take his complaint seriously, but after the intervention of Emirates 24|7, things have started moving.

An official source from Etisalat confirmed the customer complaint and said it is being addressed.

The source added that it is a rare customer complaint and officials are trying to resolve the customer's grievance.

“We are trying to resolve the problem. The old account was seized and there is a possibility of giving a new number. We are trying to solve the problem by addressing his grievance,” the source said.
