Sharjah issues 4,496 'balcony violation' fines

Sharjah Municipality issued 4,496 fines to residents for hanging laundry and satellite dishes on balconies, affecting the apearance of the city, reported 'Al Bayan'.

Abdul Aziz Al Mansouri, Assistant Director-General, Technical Affairs, Sharjah Municipality, said: "Residents continued using balconies to dry clothes and install satellite dishes despite awareness campaigns and fines."

Violators are given Dh250 fines, which needs to be paid within a week of its being issued. Failure to do so will lead to the services being cut after notifying the electricity and water department.
