Quick action by Sharjah Police helped save life of a seven-month-old baby boy in the emirate.
Officials were at the site within 8 minutes of the Operations Room receiving information in the wee hours of Saturday (about 2.45am), said Colonel Ibrahim Al Ajel, Director, CID, Sharjah Police.
A woman called up police to say she fears violence against the baby in her neighbour’s house as the baby was crying incessantly and that she could hear noises suggesting destruction of property, Col. Ajel added.
When cops arrived at the house, in Al Muwailah area, they found the Ethiopian maid holding a cleaver against the baby, he said and added that she was hysterical and breaking household items.
Sharjah Police appealed to public not to hire maids illegally so as to ensure safety of children and property.
