Sharjah to have Dh200m modern market

Sharjah Municipality has commenced constructing a new integrated fish, meat, vegetable and fruit market at Jubail area at a of Dh200 million.

Sultan Abdullah, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality, said the market, which embraces the Islamic architecture concept, will be ready in 18 months.

"The market will house 402 shops - 162 for fish, 123 for meat and 118 for vegetables and fruits. The project is designed to cater to the increasing demand from growing population for consumer products such as fish," he added.
