anniversary of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan has had an obvious influence on local and international humanitarian work.

It said in a report for the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which coincides with the 19th of Ramadan of every year, that the UAE’s humanitarian work has become a way of life that represents noble human values and civilised behaviours, which the leadership and its people believe in.

It added that these values are passed on from one generation to the next, while the country’s eternal role model is the founding leader of the UAE and the builder of its development, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Knight of Giving and Leader of the Humanity, who encouraged giving and played an important and positive role in developing communities.

It further added that the country has continued on the path of giving, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The report mentioned that the initiative will continue to execute its humanitarian missions and projects, both in and outside the UAE, to ease the suffering of the poor and establish the culture of volunteer work and humanitarian giving.

It stressed that the Zayed Humanitarian Work Day is a distinct event in the UAE’s history, and an opportunity to view the country’s accomplishments in the humanitarian work field through the aid it provided for other countries and peoples, which established the journey of giving, humanitarianism and tolerance, whose foundations were planted by Sheikh Zayed.

The report included the community and humanitarian initiatives launched by the Zayed Giving Initiative during previous years, which made the UAE one of the first countries to implement mobile health initiatives and international humanitarian programmes.

The report also highlighted the leading role of the UAE’s youth in the field of community and humanitarian services, both locally and internationally, in different international events.

Dr. Adel Al Shameri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that the UAE has provided an international example to be followed in humanitarian giving, whose foundations were planted by Sheikh Zayed.

He added that the wise leadership has given care and attention to volunteer work and humanitarian giving, until they became qualities of the UAE’s children, which represent the civilised behaviour of the community and its humanitarian path that societies and civilisations have elevated since ancient times, representing a symbol of co-operation between members of the community, under its various institutions.
