Special taxis for disabled launched in Abu Dhabi
The Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars (TransAD) announced on Tuesday the launch of special taxi service in Abu Dhabi for people with special needs.
This was announced at a press conference held by the centre to showcase the vehicles to be used by the service to the media.
The new advanced service was fitted for disabled people to offer them security and convenience such as hydraulic systems to facilitate accessibility of people with feeble motor skills.
Masood Mohammed Hashem, Assistant General Manager of Compliance, Licensing and Customer Service, said the new service comes in line with the strategies and objectives of the centre to upgrade the taxi services in accordance with the world standards.
The tariff will be the same as that of the silver taxi with the possibility of using discount cards provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs. To reserve a Wheelchair Accessible Taxi, customers can contact TransAD call centre on 600 535353
