Al Ain Zoo is bringing back its annual Spring Safari programme giving children a chance to connect with wildlife and nature through a number of activities, in a fun and inspiring setting. The safari is set to take place from 30 March to 10 April 10 2014.

Organised by the Education Centre at the zoo, the initiative aims to advance the skills of children in the fields of Arts and Crafts, mathematics and many more. The safari will provide an unmatched educational experience through a wide variety of movies and shows, encouraging team work, in an effort to make the most out of children’s spring break holidays.

Muna Al Dhaheri, Chief Executive of Conservation & Education at Al Ain Zoo, said:
“The Zoo Safari programme aims to educate children about wildlife and nature, giving them the opportunity to directly interact with the zoo’s animals. Through a range of educational activities, facilities, and programmes, the safaris help to enhance knowledge about conservation and wildlife, consistently working towards nurturing the next generation of scientists and environmentalists.

Educating the UAE youth is a core element of Al Ain Zoo’s vision, and being a home to internationally important conservation programmes, we are committed to educating future leaders in a fun environment through such activities. This provides our youth with the basic tools they need to pioneering global causes such as conservation.”

The Spring Safari gives participants a chance to watch animals in large, open mixed exhibits, including the Reptile House, White lion exhibit, and to interact with animals with bird shows and more.

The Spring Safari, organised annually for school students, is a two-week programme allowing a large number of students to participate. As a result, Al Ain Zoo’s student visitors are increasing annually. The Education Centre at the zoo is highly involved in organising activities such as school field trips, camps and training sessions that aim to enrich their knowledge on wildlife and animal conservation.
