About 300 Sudanese soldiers arrived in Yemen on Saturday to join the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting to end rebel anarchy and restore legitimacy to the Arab nation.

The troops sailed through the Red Sea and landed at a port West of the Yemeni port of Aden, the UAE daily ‘Al Bayan’ said, citing a report by Aden ‘Al Gad’ news website.

“These soldiers are now in Yemen. They will join the coalition troops in restoring legitimacy in Yemen following the coup by the Houthis and forces loyal to deposed President Ali Abdullah Saleh,” the report said.

It quoted a military source as saying the Sudanese force would also join other units responsible for maintaining security in Aden, which was liberated last month.
