Suspended term for stealing Dh5,500 from purse

A Pakistani clerk who stole Dh5,500 from a bag of a customer when she forgot it in a shop, got a suspended three months in jail.

According to the prosecution sheet, a customer forgot her bag in shop and remembered it after an hour. She found it but with Dh5,500 out of Dh6,000 missing, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

 

Police arrested OMB, 42, Pakistani clerk, who returned Dh5,500 he stole from her bag which he claimed he found with one of the maintenance workers.
