In yet another near-fatal accident over the weekend, Sharjah Police saved two men from drowning at Al Khan beach.
However, they are on the lookout for another missing person, reported local media.
A Pakistani national and a Palestinian were successfully rescued after they were pulled into the sea by strong waves.
The operations room received information on Saturday evening that three people were seen battling strong waves.
Rescue team arrived immediately at the site and helped save the duo. The Palestinian man had to be rushed Kuwaiti Hospital, while the Pakistani national was administered first aid at the site.
He expressed shock and gratitude at being saved at the nick of the moment. Describing his experience, the lucky survivor said that he felt the strong waves pull him inside the water and was almost losing it when he felt the rescue team pull him ashore.
Police officials said they tackle several drowning incidents, especially in summer. They urged public to exercise caution and check weather reports before going swimming.
