Temporary work permit fee set at Dh500

The Ministry of Labour has said workers can avail temporary work permits for a fee, provided certain conditions are met.

The ministry has fixed Dh500 as charges for issuing temporary work permits for workers, for a period not more than one year for all categories of enterprises, reported 'Gulf Today'.

Mandatory conditions include the category of profession.

Workers profession should match the activity of the enterprise and he/she should not be less than 18 or more than 65 years. Also, priority will be given to Emiratis and GCC nationals who can take up the required job. And the licence of the enterprise should be valid.

The ministry also set conditions to approve issuance of a work permit for a period of time to the workers registered in the ministry, including that they possess a labour card and a valid residency.
