Thief dials into Sharjah bachelors’ quarters

The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police have arrested an Afghan national, AFP, for robbing several apartments in the emirate.

According to the police, the accused targeted apartments where bachelors resided and robbed mobile phones on particular.

Acting on several complaints of thefts, the CID launched an investigation which led to the arrest of the accused and a search of his home revealed nine mobile phones and two laptops.

The accused admitted to stealing mobile phones from bachelor quarters and claimed he sold the stolen mobiles to shops in a neighboring emirate.

The Sharjah Police have called on the public to report any criminal activity and has also warned owners of shops not to buy any products that do not carry invoices proving ownership.
