Dubai Public Prosecution has requested the court to sentence three Bangladeshis to life imprisonment in a human trafficking case.

A mechanic, cook and maid are found guilty of forcing the sister of the first accused into indecent activities, reported 'Al Ittihad' newspaper.

The Prosecution also sought three to 15 years imprisonment, in accordance with Article 365 of the Federal Penal Code, for two unemployed defendants in the same case. The maid involved in the case should be gien additional temporary jail term, argued the Prosecution.

The victim, who decided to come to the UAE to help her husband financially, was promised a maid's job by her brother. But upon arriving here, her brother forced her into prostitution.

She contacted her husband in Bangladesh and revealed her ordeal over the phone. He in turn sent 60,000 taka to her brother to have her returned to him safely. Despite that her brother continued harrassing her and threatening her, according to prossecution sheet.

She finally managed to escape from him and reported to the police. All accused have been arrested. The brother has admitted to the charges and has been referred to the court.
