Three in dock for offering traffic fine discounts

Three Egyptians are accused of swindling people, claiming to offer them 40 per cent discounts on traffic fines, the Dubai Misdemeanours Court heard on Tuesday.

On June 29, the trio - MAB, 32, employee; AMS, 23, visitor; and AIA, 29, accountant - met Alaa Mohammed Isam and Ahmad Ibrahim and offered to waive 40 per cent of their traffic fines  totalling Dh4,100.

The victims tipped the police who arrested the three suspects red-handed and confiscated a computer, cash and a paper with plate numbers on it from their possession.

However, all there denied doing the 'favour' for money.

The court adjourned the case until October 4 to hear testimonies of the two plaintiffs.
