A man was sentenced to three months in jail for attempting to kidnap a woman from a main road in Fujairah.
The Fujairah Criminal Court found the man, identified as MG, guilty of assaulting a woman and issued the sentence.
The public prosecution referred the case to the court, after the man admitted during interrogation by Fujairah Police that he approached the victim to give her his mobile number.
The police had arrested the man following a complaint by the victim, who provided them with his description and the registration number of his vehicle.
She told police that a man tried to assault and kidnap her as she was walking on the main road.
Based on the information provide the police launched an investigation and arrested the suspect.
