Three Filipinos allegedly stole 50kgs silver powder worth Dh135,000 from their employer, Kodak Film company, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
According to the records, two technicians EDB, 33, and DKJ, 30, and messenger LAV, 41, who works for the company stole the silver powder on September 11.
The company’s general manager, LJ, 34, Indian testified that the company buys films from America and sells them to customers who use the films and then give them back to the company to develop them.
“The developing operation produces silver powder which is collected in a container. The accused stole the powder and sold it. The company found that EDB, who is assigned by the company to buy materials needed for the development operation from the local market, cheated as he submitted a bill of Dh360 while the actual value was Dh120. Confronting him with the incident he admitted to the cheating and to the theft of the silver powder for a year with the help of DKJ and LVA. The other two accused admitted to stealing the silver powder with EDB.
The accused confessed to the accusation and the court adjourned the case for verdict until December 4.
