Top-10 women traffic offenders of Dubai: No 1 has 257 offences, Dh201,140 in fines

Increasingly women drivers are seen violating traffic rules, says a top police official.

General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Head, Traffic, Dubai Police, released details of top 10 women drivers who violated traffic rules the most last year.

Of the 10, seven were Emirati women who committed about 1,137 violations and accumulated fines of about Dh701,480 among them, he said.

Women are quiet and peaceful while driving, but off late women have been caught flouting traffic rules, accumulating fines and some even not paying them, he added.

Gen Zafeen said a Bangaldeshi driver leads the list of offenders with 257 violations recorded and fines worth Dh201,140. Her car was impounded for 1,837 days. He said that this woman driver topped the list of violators because she had not paid the fines and was also wanted by investigating teams for speeding.

Second on the list is a Syrian woman who clocked 288 offences, with fines adding up to Dh186,900. Her car was impounded for 45 days.

An Indian took the sixth place with 148 violations and Dh96,800 in fines. Her car was impounded for 15 days.

Meanwhile, the seven Emirati women took third, fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.  The names of these women drivers were not revealed.
