Motorists said they were experiencing pockets of congestion across several key arteries in the morning in Dubai today, with slow-moving traffic reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Rebat Street and Bur Dubai’s Al Mankhool area.

However, no major incidents have been reported in the areas mentioned.

Commuters complained of minor fender benders in the midst of traffic leading to vehicles slowing down.

At 8.15am, a two-vehicle minor bump continued to cause delays on Al Mankhool Road, heading towards Satwa from Bur Dubai.

The incident was reported in front of the Eppco gas station, involving two SUVs.

The traffic build-up on the road also resulted in tailbacks on to Kuwait Street, with commuters reporting 30-minute delays as one lane partially closed to traffic due to the minor crash.

The Mankhool-Sheikh Rashid Road junction, headed towards Al Garhoud Bridge, was also facing heavy traffic around 9am.

Those connecting on to E11 at the Sana Junction also faced slow moving traffic at World Trade Centre tunnel until Dubai Mall, according to eyewitnesses.

Further down, slow moving traffic was also affecting Jebel Ali-bound commuters from Sharjah, with spillover gridlock reported on corresponding arteries such as Rebat Street.

Meanwhile, reports of the usual morning jam on Hessa Street also came in, headed towards Sheikh Zayed Road.
