It is the morning mayhem of traffic being reported from all pockets of the UAE, with Sharjah Police stepping up to suggest alternative routes to commuters after Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road stalled in gridlock.

The authority tweeted: “Traffic jam on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road; please take the Emirates Road instead.”

Commuters have been complaining they have been stuck in the industrial area for nearly an hour this morning, with slow moving traffic stretching from Industrial Area 13 towards the Al Nahda Interchange, heading into Dubai.

The alternative route from SMBZ Road to Al Ittihad Street, via a connection through Baghdad Street is also facing a jam this morning.

Those in Deira may also want to avoid the Floating Bridge access this morning, heading into Dubai, with the junction around Deira City Centre at a standstill, according to reports.

Meanwhile, a minor accident on Oud Metha Road, near Wafi Mall is also causing congestion there.

Also, commuters who are heading in from the Dubai Investments Park roundabout, heading towards Hessa Street, are also in for a long wait this morning.

Currently, no major reports are coming on incidents on Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, for commuters heading south, in the direction of Abu Dhabi.
