Truck flips on Meydan Road in Dubai

A cement mixer truck has turned on its side on Meydan Road, causing congestion on both sides of the busy stretch.

The crash has occurred near in front of the Iranian school, heading towards Al Khail, with Dubai Police vehicles already on the scene.

The crash was causing gridlock around 9am, with eyewitness S Kumar stating: “The truck is on its side, right in front of the school.  While police are handling the situation, rubberneckers on both sides of the road are adding to the gridlock in the area.”

Further down in Dubai, commuters are reporting standstill traffic on E66 Oud Metha Road from Al Khail Rd towards Wafi-Bur Dubai.

One resident has stated the buildup is due to the ongoing Cityscape property exhibition.

There is also slow moving traffic at 9.30am on Hessa Street and Umm Suqiem Road, coming in from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
