Bur Dubai commuters are probably facing a morning full of traffic jams and tailbacks, as two accidents have been reported in the early hours, with slow moving cars blocking up a third major road artery.

Dubai Police has confirmed an accident on Al Wasl Road and another before Al Garhoud Bridge has given rise to morning traffic.

The authority tweeted earlier: “Clogged traffic on Al Wasl Road opposite Safa Park from the intersection, heading towards the intersection of Union Cooperative Society.”

Eye witness SR Kutty said: “When you come in from Hadeeqah Street, you can see tailbacks stretching all the way into Bur Dubai. The two cars, a sedan and SUV are both badly damaged.”

Kutty said the black sedan appeared to have crashed into the silver SUV.

Meanwhile, Dubai Police also reported in another accident on Al Garhoud bridge, from Bur Dubai towards Deira, at Al Rebat exit.

The authorities are on both scenes.

Reports have also come in on slow moving traffic, heading into the Trade Centre underpass from Jafiliya.

Expect minor delays on Sheikh Zayed Road.
