Two Bangladeshis workers have been accused of arranging a gambling game in a public area at Al Abra area, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
SII, 24, and BHH, 25, prepared a table, a black belt and a screw driver in the tunnel at Al Abra area and used them for gambling.
The two are also accused of working for another than their sponsor and violating the country’s residency rules.
SII is accused with gambling with other fugitives in which the loser pays Dh10.
Corporal Khalid Ahmad testified that following a notification about people gambling in the tunnel at Al Abra area, he and his colleague headed there and each one entered the tunnel from either side.
“I saw people gathering around an ironing table and a man was gambling while another was calling on people to play. Once they saw us wearing dishdashas, the two attempted to run away, but I caught one and my colleague get hold of the other,” he testified.
The two confessed to their crime and the court adjourned the case for verdict until October 27.
