An Asian man was killed and another injured while at work in Fujairah.
The men were installing connecting pipes inside a pit to extend sewer lines in Al Ragheilat suburb in Fujairah.
According to a report in Emarat Al Youm, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning while the men were at work on the sanitation project.
A part of the pit collapsed on them and they were trapped inside the rubble.
A team from Civil Defense Department in Fujairah was at the site immediately upon receiving an alert.
One of the workers- a 35-year-old from Bangladesh- was saved and transferred to hospital.
He has suffered severe injuries.
His colleague – a 32-year-old, also from Bangladesh – was discovered dead.
His body has been transferred to Fujairah hospital.
