Two brothers catch bag thieves in Dubai

Dubai's police commander honoured two Yemeni brothers for catching a theft ring targetting people carrying bags in the emirate.

Major General Khamis Matar Al Mazinah said the behavior of the two brothers underscored the need for the public to cooperate with police to curb crime.

Abdul Hafiz Nasser and his brother Abdul Rab were shopping in Al Rifa when an Asian mean screamed for help after a thief snatched his bag containing Dh500.

The two chased the thief and caught him before phoning the police, who later arrested two accomplices, according to 'Al Bayan' newspaper, which said the bag was returned to its owner.
