Two dead, three injured in fatal road accident in RAK

Two people have died, while another three are being treated for injuries that they sustained in a fatal road incident in Ras Al Khaimah earlier this week.

The crash was confirmed by the Ras Al Khaimah police chief in Arabic daily, Emarat Al Youm, with the cause of the incident cited as a direct result of the vehicle swerving off the road and colliding with a light pole in the Al Duhaisah neighbourhood of the emirate.

The Director General of Central Operations at RAK Police, Brigadier Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Hamidi, said: “The operations room received a call, informing us of a vehicle collision involving five people, all of them Asian nationals.

“The vehicle hit one of the street lights and had split in two. We immediately dispatched police patrols and ambulances to the scene.”

RAK Police has confirmed the driver, M.A, 57, died in the crash, along with his friend N.M, aged 51.
