The UAE, under President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has exerted efforts to curb effects of catastrophes and humanitarian crises in many countries worldwide.
The UAE did not spare any efforts to provide humanitarian relief to the victims to ease their burden.
As per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and follow up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority (RCA), the UAE is among the leading donors and countries supporting humanitarian issues.
The RCA said in its statement marking the World Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on August 19, that the UAE has set a unique course to provide relief aid to those who deserve it irrespective of race, sex or religion.
It added that Emiratis have efficiently managed relief operations and led rescue and medical missions in the most areas.
Ahmed Humaid Al Mazrouei, board chairman of the RCA, said that on the directives of the UAE leadership, the country has been shouldering humanitarian responsibilities to defuse conflicts and disasters across the globe.
He cited that the UAE charity organisations have taken upon themselves to help the needy people worldwide.
