UAE brothers escape death in Khorfakkan

Two young Emirati brothers narrowly escaped death after their car was badly damaged when it rammed into a power pylon near Khorfakkan because of speeding.

The two, aged 19 and 17 years, were on their way between Khorfakkan and Dibba Fujairah on Thursday night when the driver lost balance of the car due to high speed.

Police said the car veered off the road and hit the pavement before overturning and crashing into a power pylon.

“They escaped with light injuries. Initial investigation showed the accident was caused by speeding and negligence,” said Lt Colonel Saeed Al Hassani, director of media and moral guidance in Fujairah's police.
