UAE cautions citizens not to travel to Lebanon

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated its call to UAE citizens, holders of diplomatic, special and regular passports, not to travel at present to the Republic of Lebanon, because of the events in the region, especially the situation in Lebanon.

However, in necessary situations...

1) holders of diplomatic and special passports must obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to travel. They are requested to coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travelling on the following number 02-4449600.

2 ) Holders of regular passports, wishing to travel must undertake in writing at the airport that they take full responsibility by travelling to Lebanon.

This was stated by Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He urged UAE citizens in Lebanon to leave immediately, adding that they have to coordinate with the UAE Embassy in Beirut on the following numbers: 0096118570000 and operations department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 024449600.

He noted that the warning comes from the ministry's keenness on the safety Emiratis abroad.

Al Hamed called on citizens to comply fully with this resolution until further notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that the citizens should take caution if travelling abroad.

He added that they should read the instructions and travel tips on the website of the Ministry as well as register in "My Presence Service" dedicated to the UAE citizens.
