Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, signed an agreement on combating crime with the Chinese Public Security Minister Meng Jianzhu on Thursday.

According to the agreement both countries will fight crime as per the UAE and Chinese laws and their international commitments to prevent and fight violence crimes against individuals, properties, terrorist acts, corruption, organised crimes and others in the framework of agreement.

The two countries also agreed to exchange information and laws on fighting and preventing crimes, techniques in fighting cybercrimes, civil defence, fighting fires, legal framework for police, training, police education, the border management, activities, scientific research and expansion of cooperation between the Interpol offices in the two countries.

Earlier, Sheikh Saif received in his office the Chinese official and the delegation accompanying him. During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of topics of common interest between the two friendly countries.

Sheikh Saif stressed depth of relations between the two countries and keenness of the leadership in both countries to bolster co-operation.

Present were Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Gao Yusheng, Lt General Saif Abdul Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Staff Major General Obaid Al Haira Salem Al Kitbi, Deputy Commander of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Nasser Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and other senior officers.
