Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah recently conducted 225 successful operations to eradicate tumours using endoscope and vascular catheters.
Dr. Jeon Eui Yong, Consultant, MD Radiography Division of Imaging and Laboratory, said the hospital adopts the latest in the field of endoscopy, adding that this reflects the hospital's keenness on providing modern medical treatments to patients.
He explained that the laparoscopic technique has become a certified method at the hospital for eradicating tumours as it reduces complications suffered by patients after the operation.
Dr. Yong said the hospital recently introduced new therapeutic ways to treat liver cancer and uterine fibrosis without surgery through vascular catheter.
