UAE movie buffs need to wait... No morning shows during Ramadan

The two top movie showcasers in the UAE have decided to do away with morning shows during Ramadan.

While movie screenings start around 1.30pm at Reel Cinemas and Grand Cinemas centres across the UAE.

“During Ramadan, we will not screen morning shows,” established a ticketing officer at the Festival City Grand Cinema counter. “Our first screening will start around 1.30pm.”

Grand Cinemas is at Al Ghurair Centre, Wafi City, Dubai Festival City, Ibn Battuta Mall, Mercato Mall, AUH Mall, Manar Mall, Mega Mall and Sahara Centre.

Reel Cinemas is at Dubai Mall and Dubai Marina Mall.

CinemaCity multiplex, which is located at Arabian Centre, has also revised its timings for Ramadan, with shows starting post noon. “We are not screening any shows in the morning. Our first show starts at noon,” confirmed a telephone ticketing official.

Vox Cinemas, which is at Ajman City Centre, Deira City Centre, Mall of the Emirates, Marina Mall and Mirdif City Centre, is the only movie showcaser that is hosting morning shows.

“No, we don’t have separate timings now. We will continue to screen the morning shows as is the norm,” added an official. “We, however, won’t serve any snacks until after the Iftar is announced.”
