UAE rain: Water level rises in dams, lakes

High water rates registered in dams, embankments and lakes touched 6.5 million cubic metre, following the rainfall that swept across the UAE over the past few days.

According to the Dams Department at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in the Eastern Region, the amount of rain water in the Eastern Region until the date of March 3, 2016, amounted to 6.5 million cubic metres of water, equivalent to over 1.4 billion of gallons.

It added that the rains caused flooding in corals and valleys of the areas devoid of dams. The Eastern Region has been receiving rains since March 3.
