RAK, Fujairah gear up for unstable weather

Major-General Ali bin Alwan Al Naimi, Adjutant-General of Ras Al Khaimah Police, has confirmed that police force is ready to handle the impact of current weather pattern in the country.
 
Patrols have been increased with 50 police deployed on various roads in the emirate, with a focus on valleys that are prone to floods and residential areas.
 
Ambulances and rescue teams, along with Air Wing officials, are also on alert to handle any emergency, he added.

Maritime rescue teams are deployed at beaches to help those in need.
 
Maj. Gen. Al Naimi said adequate measures have been put in place to reduce accidents during bad weather.
 
A few roads, which get water-logged, have been closed as precautionary measure, he added.
 
He urged motorists and visitors to abide by traffic rules, especially during these days when visibility could be poor and roads slippery.
 
Reduce speeds, maintain minimum distance between vehicles and be vigilant while changing lanes, he cautioned.

Traffic patrols increased in Fujairah

Brigadier Mohammed bin Naya Al Tunaiji, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police has issued a directive to intensify the presence of traffic patrols and security across all internal and external areas of the emirate.

The Air Wing has also been placed on alert in lieu of hard to reach areas affected by rain in the coming days.

Brigadier bin Naya further met with general managers and directors of departments, emphasising their willingness to deal in case of any emergency order.

He further stated all police stations in the emirate were ready to deal with all eventualities and provide security services to the public.

The police chief also called on all drivers and visitors of the emirate to take caution while driving in rainy weather conditions.
