UAE residents are the most satisfied in the world with their health and well-being, according to a new global survey.

Consumer goods giant Philips and researcher Ipsos has released a survey which showed that the UAE residents have placed high trust on the country’s healthcare system. The survey’s findings showed that the UAE and Saudi Arabia residents are the most satisfied globally, scoring 88 and 78 markets on the well-being index, respectively. India scored 72 on the well-being index in the survey which was conducted in 30 different countries.

Most of Western countries such as the United States, France and Germany were clustered around the 57-point average. Russians were among the most dissatisfied in the world with their health and well-being scoring just 30 points.

A UN study had showed that obesity is higher among females than males in the UAE with a ratio of 30/20 per cent, ranking the country fourth globally in terms of highest obesity ratio among women. The statistics showed that around 31 per cent of women are obese compared to around 18 per cent men.
