UAE sends emergency energy assistance to Hadhramout

A UAE aid ship today unloaded at the Port of Mukalla a shipment of 163 barrels of oil to run electric generators in the coast of Hadhramout, which is facing repeated power outages.

Provided by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), the emergency energy assistance came within the UAE's efforts to address frequent power disruptions in the area due to the deterioration in the electricity network.

The ship of fuel, the third of its kind, will be followed within the next few weeks by another ship carrying spare parts and filters, the ERC said.

Yemeni officials appreciated the vital role being played by the ERC to improve the power supply in the area.

They said the latest assistance would ease suffering of the local population.
