UAE to start 21 new projects in Pakistan
The UAE ‘Project to Assist Pakistan’ has announced the start of 21 new developmental projects Pakistan at a cost of $184.2 million, in implementation of the directives and initiatives of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The director of UAE Project to Assist Pakistan (PAP), Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, said the projects include the construction of a new road linking different regions in addition to the opening of a major hospital in Islamabad, and the implementation of educational projects along with the establishment of water treatment and purification plants to provide safe drinking water for 12 remote villages.
He added that the Emirates Hospital is one of the largest health projects implemented in Pakistan at a cost of $108 million in Islamabad.
PAP had begun the implementation of seven educational projects, including the establishment of three colleges and four educational centres for professional and vocational qualification for women at a total cost of $14.4 million.
He added that the projects in the second phase include 12 initiatives to provide safe drinking water to a number of towns and villages in the region at a cost of $1.2 million.
Al Ghafli expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for their humanitarian support to the people of Pakistan.
