UAE weekend weather: Humid at 48°C

The next 48 hours will drive up the level of discomfort for UAE residents as the country’s weather bureau forecasts foggy climes with humidity levels spiking to 95 per cent, especially near the coastal areas.

The Mercury continues to hover in the forties with the h‎ighest recorded was 48 degrees Celsius on Thursday, while the lowest temperature was 25.5 degrees Celsius at Jebal Jais mountain at 6.16am.

Hot winds, fresh at times, will also continue to blow northeast to northwest near the coastal areas, reaching highs of 40 kilometres per hour.

On Friday, the weather is forecast to be partly cloudy and hazy at times over some areas, with some clouds  appearing to the east.

Light to moderate winds will be fresh at times, causing some dust to blow over exposed areas.

The sea is expected to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

The relative humidity is likely to increase during night and morning times over some internal and coastal areas with a probability of fog formation.

Weather on Saturday is expected to follow a similar pattern, with the country's National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) stating the day will be partly cloudy and hazy over some areas at times, some clouds will appear in parts.

Light to moderate wind will become fresh at times, giving rise to some blowing dust over exposed areas.

The sea should be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea, with the relative humidity likely to increase during night and morning times over some internal and coastal areas with a probability of mist formation.
