UAE wins gold in philatelic exhibition

The UAE won the gold medal at the third Continental Philatelic Exhibition held in Cairo to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the first Egyptian stamp.

Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA) participants won a number of laurels for their entries, enhancing the UAE's prestige in the world of philately.

Muhammad Javaid won Gold medal for his exhibit ‘Great Britain Pre Stamp Postmarks 1770's – 1840’; while Abdulla MT Khoory won Large Vermeil medal for his exhibit of ‘The Stations Postal Markings of Egypt’ and Ali Abdulrahman Ahmad won Vermeil medal for his collection of  ‘India: Asoka Stationery’.

Mohammad Hassan Haidous was National Commissioner and Ali Hassan Almulla was Assistant Commissioner from UAE.

The exhibition held between December 31, 2015 and January 6, 2016 saw participants from countries such as the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Cyprus, Great Britain, Lebanon, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
