Welcome 2015 in Dubai: Watch Burj Khalifa NYE fireworks 'LIVE' from anywhere in the world

Burj Khalifa New Year eve fireworks are telecast live on local TV channels in the UAE but this time viewers across the global can watch it live - from the comfort of their homes.

“Join us December 31 and witness a spectacular New Year’s eve fireworks display like never before. Wherever you are in the world – tune in as we’ll be live streaming the event on the Downtown Dubai YouTube channel,” says mydowntowndubai.com.

Emaar Properties, developer of the 828-meter-high tower, will offer viewers the choice of four camera angles to ensure they get the ultimate viewing experience.

No details have been shared on what is being planned in the Downtown district, but last year it all started off with a dramatic countdown through a display of effects racing up to the pinnacle of Burj Khalifa with fireworks beginning their spectacular sequences including a salute to the nation with the colours of the UAE National flag and welcoming the UAE’s win to host the World Expo 2020.

It was followed by a tribute to Burj Khalifa, with fireworks evolving into petals, wrapping the tower much like the desert flower, which is the inspiration for the design of the tower.

Downtown Dubai is jam packed with residents and visitors on December 31, as authorities closed the roads to the area at least five to six hours before the countdown. People are advised to use Dubai Metro, timing of which is often extended every year.

Burj Khalifa has 900 studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, while there are 144 private Armani Residences.
