Where to find the world's longest bridal veil.... in Sharjah

The UAE is poised to unveil yet another record breaking moment in history at an upcoming bridal event in Sharjah next month.

‘The Perfect Wedding Show’, which will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah from March 5 to 8, will launch of the world’s longest bridal veil that is expected to be 5km long.

A brainchild of Rozana Hospitality Suha AS Al Aila, Décor & Project Manager for the company, confirmed the news in a statement, saying: “In collaboration with Expo Centre Sharjah and the presence of Guinness officials, Rozana Hospitality will pay its tributes to one of the oldest traditions of weddings, the veil, by introducing the longest bridal veil in the world at the Perfect Wedding Show.

“The veil is planned to be 5km long and will be exhibited throughout Expo Centre Sharjah Exhibition halls.”

For its ninth edition, the Perfect Wedding Show will host more than 140 wedding planners, couturiers, men’s outfitters, fashion houses, retailers of bridal wear and accessories, flower and décor
specialists, caterers, photographers and leisure consultants from Bahrain, Italy, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UAE.

Targeting a market that has one of the highest average spending for a wedding, the show aims to cater to the complete requirements of the bride, groom and their relatives, friends and colleagues.

Lu Buchanan, COO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said: “The wedding industry in the region is thriving on a host of positive factors ranging from a young and affluent population to the emergence of the country as a hot wedding destination and its excellent hospitality sector.

“A growing economy and upcoming mega events like the World Expo 2020 are set to generate better opportunities, job security, higher pay raises and incentives that will attract younger professionals from across the world to take up jobs in a variety of fields here.

This will be music to the ears of the regional wedding industry.”
The exhibition will also feature daily fashion shows from local, regional and international design houses and designers.

The list of designers is led by popular names in the fashion world Hani Buhairi and Fouad Sarkis.

Other well-known names who have confirmed their presence include Dar Mona Al Mansouri, Dar Sara, Litchi and Emirati designer Aisha Al Muhairi, among others.

The show will also feature a special section for Egyptian furnishings, sponsored by the Egyptian Trade Centre.

Other attractions will include cultural parades, live demonstrations of hair-styling and make-up and dance performances.

The gold sponsor of the show is Bubbles Beauty and Fitness, which will give away surprise gifts and prizes to visitors.

Visitors can also expect daily raffle draws which will offer prizes to lucky shoppers.
