Why your du internet may not be working

An international submarine internet cable was cut on Wednesday, March 23, and as a result Internet service users across the region were affected, including the UAE.
A statement by Emirates Integrated Telecommunication Corporation (du) said: "du would like to assure its customers that it has taken immediate action to ease the situation by re-routing its traffic over other available links."
"However, customers will continue to face bandwidth degradation and longer connection times. Performance is expected to go back to more normal levels within the coming few days, according to the cable operators.
"Although the incident is not under its control, du is working with the concerned parties to ensure a quick resolution of this issue.
"du apologises for any inconvenience caused and is committed to provide further updates and actions being taken to restore capacity performance to the normal levels."
