Woman acquitted of forgery charges

The Dubai Criminal Court acquitted a Filipina from the accusation of presenting a forged photocopy of a passport when suspected by police staff.

According to the records, Corporal Suhaila Matar, testified that on July 16 while she was on duty at around 8pm at Khalid bin Al Walid metro station, her college Nasser Abdullah suspected one of the pedestrians.

She and her colleague approached the woman and asked for an identity card. She presented a passport photocopy.

Asking her whether this was her passport, she confessed to the forgery that she has placed her picture instead of the its original holder.

AJM, 30, jobless was taken to Al Rifaa police station for forgery accusation.
