Woman infected by husband seeks divorce

An Arab woman has filed a suit for a divorce from her husband in the UAE after she was infected by him with gonorrhea, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

The woman told court that she was happy with her husband in the first months of their marriage before he started to go out and return home late night.

When she started to suffer from pains, she went to the hospital for tests, which showed she was infected with gonorrhea.

“She was told by doctors that her husband passed the disease to her…she consulted her father, who told her to seek divorce,” Albayan daily said.

“The woman told court that she wants divorce because she was infected by her husband and that he has been unfaithful to her.”

The paper did not say in which emirate the incident took place.
