Women urged to save umbilical cord blood

Women in Sharjah will be encouraged to save their children's umbilical cord blood stem cells following a decision by the Breast Feeding Friends Society, an affiliate of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to cooperate with Cryo-Save Arabia on raising awareness on the process.

According to the Society's decision, representatives of the private cord blood stem cell bank will visit to pregnant women to show them the life-saving benefits of preserving stem cells from umbilical cord and the potential to treat a variety of diseases in the future.

During the visits, the company's team will also raise awareness on the importance of breastfeeding for the health of mothers and children.

Headquartered in Dubai Healthcare City, Cryo-Save Arabia specializes in the collection, isolation and storage of stem cells from umbilical cord blood. It owns and operates a state-of-the-art private laboratory and cryogenic preservation facility.
