Abu Dhabi’s Court of Cassation issued a final sentence ordering a company to pay Dh150,000 damages to a worker who suffered from fractures and work disability after falling off a tree while on duty.

The worker, who was cutting part of the branches in the Western region had demanded Dh200,000 on the grounds the company failed to provide sufficient safety measures for him, but two lower courts granted him Dh150,000.

“The Court of Cassation rejected an appeal by the company and ordered it to pay Dh150,000 damages to the worker,” 'Emarat Al Youm' daily said.

It said the court issued its sentence on the basis of a medical report which showed the worker suffered from multiple fractures in his legs and had to undergo a surgery. The report showed he was no longer able to work as he has to walk using a stick.
