A Jordanian forged a salary statement and submitted to the Shariah Court which accordingly ordered him to pay less to his divorced wife for the upkeep of his children.
IMA, 34, in 2008 forged the salary statement issued by his company with its stamp and submitted it to the Shariah Court. The document stated that he earns a monthly salary of Dh2,000 while in fact he earned Dh5,200.
The Shariah Court accordingly ordered him to pay Dh200 monthly to his divorcee FSM, 49, Russian.
FSM checked his salary with his employer and found out that he earns Dh5,200 so she filed a case against him, but this time he was prosecuted for criminal accusation of forging an official document, using forgged document with his knowledge and winning the Shariah Court sentence of paying lesser amount.
The court adjourned the case until next month.
