Female journalist covers Hajj

The Saudi Arabic language satellite TV news channel Al Arabiya has sent a female reporter to cover the annual Hajj (pilgrimage) season to become the first media woman to report on the most important event in the Islamic world.

Jomana Khoja sent a report from Makkah on Al Arabiya channel on Sunday. The channel said Khoja would cover the pilgrimage rites, which were to start on Monday.

“It is the first time that a female journalist covers Hajj. She is to send a daily report on Hajj until it ends,” the Saudi Ajel newspaper said.
